Kentucky Derby Post Positions and Contenders. The most awaited Kentucky Derby day is almost here! Of course, as the Kentucky Derby 2010 is fast approaching, everybody’s excited to see who are the contenders and the post positions of this year’s Kentucky Derby. The jockeys of each horse are getting ready for the big day. In May 1, 2010, two big events will happen. One is the Mayweather vs Mosley Welterweight match, and of course, the 2010 Kentucky Derby.

The race is Saturday with a post time of approximately 6:25 p.m. from Churchill Downs in Louisville.

The Kentucky Derby Post Position Draw for 2010 occurred at noon ET on Wed. April 28.

The post position draw was determined by a traditional "pill pull" in which horses' entry blanks were pulled simultaneously with a numbered pill to determine which stall a horse is assigned in the starting gate.
